WASHINGTON — Win Without War and Win Without War Education Fund are excited to announce their next chapter of leadership as they prepare to enter their 23rd year of working for a more peaceful and progressive U.S. foreign policy.

At the end of the year, current President and former Executive Director, Stephen Miles, will be stepping down after more than 13 years as a staff member of Win Without War. Current Executive Director, Sara Haghdoosti, will continue in her role, having been joined earlier this year by longtime team member Shayna Lewis as Deputy Director.

During his tenure with Win Without War, Stephen has held numerous roles including serving as President for the past two and a half years. “Under Stephen’s leadership, Win Without War has grown into one of the largest and most respected progressive organizations focused on U.S. foreign policy and national security – and we’re very grateful for all he has done,” said Sara Haghdoosti. In 2025, Stephen will be joining the Board of Directors, where he looks forward to continuing to support the organization to thrive under Sara and Shayna’s leadership.

I will forever be grateful for the time I’ve spent at Win Without War, and I am so excited for the future under Sara and Shayna’s powerful leadership,” said Stephen Miles. “Having had the pleasure of watching both Sara and Shayna grow and thrive over the past several years, I am more confident than ever that Win Without War will not only meet the needs of our challenging times but help lead the way towards the more peaceful future we so desperately need. As I prepare to embark on my next professional adventure, I also want to express the deepest appreciation for all of the support, assistance, and indeed friendship from so many colleagues and partners during my 13 years at Win Without War. Quite literally, every success I’ve had was because of you. Thank you.”

Win Without War will be hosting an event in Washington, DC to recognize and celebrate Stephen’s service to the organization later this year in December, with details to follow.
