Win Without War condemns unilateral U.S. Embassy move to Jerusalem and ongoing attacks against peaceful Palestinian protestors

WASHINGTON, DC — Win Without War Director, Stephen Miles, released the following statement in response to the Trump administration’s decision to unilaterally move the United States Embassy to Jerusalem and Israel’s attacks on peaceful protesters in Gaza:

“While Trump administration officials and family members celebrated the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem today, Israeli soldiers opened fire on unarmed Palestinian protesters, reportedly killing dozens and injuring thousands.

“Instead of embracing violence, systematic land confiscation and annexation, and permanent occupation, it is time for the Trump administration to invest in inclusive, robust, and sustained diplomacy that helps build a just peace to end decades of military occupation and conflict.

“A strong, principled U.S. foreign policy should reflect our shared values of peace, cooperation, and commitment to the human rights, freedom and security of all people. Donald Trump should be condemning today’s violence, not making decisions that disregard these values, further fuel senseless suffering and violence, and isolate the United States from the global community.”

“We call on all American elected officials to oppose moving our Embassy to Jerusalem, and condemn the Israel Defense Forces’ violence against Palestinian protesters, which has killed nearly 100 protesters and wounded thousands more since the most recent protests in Gaza began.”
